Also known as Savannah Beach, Tybee Island is a barrier island east of Savannah where shrimping and fishing are prevalent. Dolphin tours, kayaking and other water sports create a beach goers paradise. Casual and fine dining opportunities are offered by the many restaurants on the island.  Although Tybee Island appeals to visitors, there are over 3500 year-round residents who call Tybee home and enjoy the local parks, library, walking and biking paths. History finds its place on Tybee, with the presence of Fort Screven, Officer's Row homes and the Historic Tybee lighthouse (climb to the top if you wish).
